ThreatManager, Parallel Connect and a new Windows application

This month features some exciting new functionality to test on most of our client applications, as well as a brand new, re-architected Windows application.

We’ve introduced Threat Manager, a protection for our customers that prevents all apps and websites on your device from communicating with a set of third parties known to track activity or engage in malicious behavior and Parallel Connect, a way to get connected to ExpressVPN faster.

Threat Manager is available on the following applications:

  • [RELEASE] ExpressVPN for Linux 3.18.1.0

Parallel Connect is available on the following applications:

We’ve release a new and improved version of our Windows application, now v12:

  • Optimized for Lightway protocol for faster VPN speed
  • Removed Speed Test feature and support for IKEv2 and L2TP protocols permanently
  • Removed split tunneling feature temporarily

  • Set different passwords for 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Choose a default Device Group for newly connected devices.
  • Block internet access for devices when put in Device Groups set to use “No Internet.”
  • Navigate and organize devices on the dashboard using keyboard shortcuts.
  • Reduced the time it takes to set up a new router.
  • Routers will now install updates during setup.
  • Updated OpenSSL to Version 1.1.1m.
